Research tells us that we keep our mental edge when we work our brains. The Geri-actors are doing just that at the Columbia County Lifestyle Enrichment Center. This motley crew presented “Christmas Crisis” today at the Christmas luncheon. The drama team welcomes new members if you are so inclined. They meet Tuesday and Thursday at 12:30.

Celebrate Junior Entrepreneurs
We believe that society is served best when businesses are thriving: producing the products and services that we need and providing jobs to us. This is why we celebrate our young entrepreneurs who recently participated in the Junior Makers Market. Over the next three days, we will post their stories.
Meet Isaiah and Joshua Overstreet. Isaiah enjoys creating paper origami crafts. According to Isaiah, “I like creating three dimensional objects from two dimensional paper.” At the Junior Market, he sold specialized book marks and origami animals. His brother, Joshua creates wood-burning art. We like the magnet medallions he creates that could be used to write special messages on our refrigerator. Great job gentlemen!
Downtown Nativity
The Nativity, presented by Christian Heritage Church, is up in downtown Lake City. Baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph the Wisemen and a few critters are available for pictures with your kids.
Christmas Decorations
We want to thank Tracy Kurtz Simple Life Designs for Christmasizing our lobby. #tistheseason
TGIF Peanut Boil
We all had a great time visiting and enjoying boiled peanuts last Friday. The weather was perfect. If you missed us, no worries. We will do it again next season.
National Teen Driver Safety Week
Drivers everywhere know that the longer you drive the more comfortable you are behind the wheel. Unfortunately, this doesn’t translate to risk-free driving. Accidents on the road can happen regardless of experience or whether you have a smart car or not, among other variables. According to National Underwriter Property & Casualty, these three tips can save lives:
- Eliminate distracted driving, like eating, cell phones and distractions from other passengers.
- Use your seatbelt. 90% of young passengers (ages 13-19) who died in crashes in 2015 were unrestrained.
- Never drink and drive. 29% of young drivers killed in car accidents in 2013 had alcohol in their systems.
We can help you start a conversation with your teen driver about these and other tough subjects. Call us to learn more about our Teen Driver Toolbox.
