Trick or Treat and Personal Liability
When you receive trick or treater at your home this Halloween, we suggest you spend a few minutes thinking about the safety of your yard. Homeowners are obligated under the law to provide a reasonably safe environment for visitors to their home. Injuries that occur to trick or treaters could result in personal liability if the homeowner fails to provide a safe premises. As you prepare for Halloween, think about safety. Is the walkway to your door free of trip hazards? If you have stairs, do you have hand rails? Do you have an aggressive dog that needs to be restrained? What about the candy you provide… have you inspected it? Is the packaging in place? Most homeowner policies provide $100,000 ore more in liability protection in case you miss something.
Socks & Razors for Veterans
Rotary Club of Lake City is collecting a box full of new socks, razors, shaving cream and cologne for our veterans who reside at the Lake City Veteran’s Domiciliary. If you are by our office this week and you would like to bless a veteran, you may drop off personal care items in the boxes in our lobby. Rotary will take items to the domiciliary on November 6th. The vets love these items last year.
