There was a day when the threat of catastrophic fire was an ever present worry for families. Building codes were not as good as today, and fire protection was a long way away in many areas.  Things have changed. I was reminded today of the importance of good fire protection while driving by Coloumbia County Station 45.  On display are the engine (1,000 gallons), the pumper (3,000 gallons) and the bush truck.  Good fire protection reduces homeowners premium. We should all love that. 

  

How much pressure should be in your tires for safe operation of your car?  Every car is different. The best place to learn about the pressure is on the label inside driver side door.  Proper tire pressure maximizes vehicle handling and tire traction. We recommend frequent pressure checks. Why not?  Air is free!

  

We bought up the unsold Carmel corn benefiting Cub Scout Pack 85. We can’t eat it all. Come by the office to pick up a bag, and enjoy on us. 

  

Before the telephone. Before the radio. Before the Internet, there was the church bell. The Olivet Missionary Baptist Church bell first started ringing in 1901. The bell alerted the community to births, deaths, celebrations and emergencies.  The bell still proudly stands today in front of the church on Escambia Street. Maybe it will ring again one day.
